There are over 20 milkweeds plants native to Florida. The most commonly seen in my area, are Sandhill, Fewflower, Velvet-leaf, Whorled, and Butterfly. There is also the Clasping Milkweed, but I have yet been able to photograph it when it’s in bloom.
For those that have tried to photograph a Zebra Swallowtail know these butterflies don’t stay in one place for very long. So this was extremely pleasing to be able to video this one enjoying the nectar from this Butterfly milkweed.
