Small Butterwort

Most of the ‘worts’ I have seen are yellow, this is the first time I had seen a small lilac butterwort.

While driving around getting landscape photos for an upcoming event I am participating in, I just happen to stop at this one spot, started walking towards the cypress trees, and happened to look down for no particular reason. Growing there all by itself was this simple lilac flower. At first, I thought it was some sort of bog flower, but after downloading and looking at the photos closer….my mind was blown away.

This pretty little flower is a carnivorous plant! Ya… I was surprised too!

Just remember when you are out exploring, look down! You will never know what you might come across.
