Gray Hairstreak

I am so fascinated by how butterflies like the Gray Hairstreak, get their coloration and design…. Why are their antenna’s black and white? Why do they have a white, black and orange markings… and so on and so on. Nature is truly fascinating.

When I post anything on this site I research as much as I can about that species. Usually, I get some basic information from the results of a Google search, and sometimes I get some really cool information. The video below is great information for photographers and videographers that love shooting in macro. Now we know what to look for.

FWC created this nice post of Florida Butterflies, Caterpillars, and Their Host Plants poster. I don’t think they distribute them anymore, but when I get some free time I will put a sample together and share.
