Rosy Wolfsnail

Well, this one isn’t on the friendly snail list. Apparently, this carnivorous snail was introduced into Hawaii to control Giant African Land Snails. But that plan didn’t work because this snail species also ate their native snails.

When I first saw this snail it reminded me of some Syfy movie, but I can’t remember what the title of the movie was. It was quite interesting to observe and to photograph.

Besides being one of the fastest crawling snails, took 20 minutes to slug across the road, it definitely makes one cool photography subject.
