Earliest collection, according to the Atlas of Florida Plants, was June 1928 near Sebastian Florida by John K. Small.

Habitat: Sandy soil growing around Longleaf Pine, Turkey Oaks, Saw Palmettos
Bloom: June-July
Height: Up to 3 feet tall
Attracts: Bees, Butterflies, and other insects
